Lebanon and Israel

Everyone knows whats happening in Lebanon. If it's not a Zionist Conspiracy, it's a rightful attack on jihadi-scum. What I don't understand is why everyone feels the need to have such polarized views. Sure, injustices are being committed, but they're being committed by both sides. Does it matter, then, who started it, or who is doing more of it?

If it is infact an unjust, unprovoked, excessive use of force by Israel, then why does the Hezbollah fire rockets on the Israeli civillian population? An eye for on eye? Why do people think that one act of injustice can be undone by another. Do they not realize it only makes things worse? I won't comment on - from a religious standpoint - how wrong it is to kill innocent people, but I will comment on it's political effects. Lebanon and Hezbollah are lucky that the Israelis were stupid enough to do the Qana airstrike, because before that the global media's image of the war was somewhat balanced. Now it's tilted in favour of Lebanon, just because of the footage of dead children.

The Islamic world is not as strong as it would like to be; until then it must learn to play by the rules of the most powerful nation on Earth. Right now we're not even trying to understand the rules, let alone use them to our advantage.

If the war is infact a rightful act of retribution, why then does Israel continue to attack civillian populated areas of Lebanon? If the sneaky, evil Hezbollah is in fact hidden among the Lebanese civillians, HOW does it become okay for the Lebanese civillians to die in the numbers that you deem necessary for the "protection" of Israel? What blame is on the poor who cannot afford to leave their homes, to be grouped into the same category as terrorists and collectively punished for their actions. If Muslims didn't have a clear reason for Jihad before, they certainly have one now. Good job, well done. Now we'll have more young muslims blowing themselves up all over the world.

What is morally wrong can never be advantageous, even when it enables you to make some gain that you believe to be to your advantage. The mere act of believing that some wrongful course of action constitutes an advantage is pernicious.
Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC)

The International Herarld Tribune has the only fairly accurate article I have ever read by a Westerner about the whole issue of Jihad, and how the West must go about it for the good of both Muslims and the rest of the world.

Till then, let's hope India and Pakistan don't start any mischief, North Korea keeps its missiles in their silos, Iran doesn't nuke Israel, and Africa... what to do about Africa. Sigh.
