Some day someone's going to have to tell me what all the fuss is about. What's the big deal in having to read text that's in CAPS. Oh noez! teh n00b iz scr34m1ng aT me! 33k!

If it bothers you that much, take a second and imagine that the person is NOT screaming. Since it requires quite an imagination to imagine the screaming in the first place, try unimagining the screaming instead, if it helps. If the person is making a fool of himself (and there are countless ways to do this online), why does it bother you so much. How much skill can you possibly need to make sure your capslock key stays off when it should. First we had people (Apple) tell us we're dumb (one-button mice), and now we've got these brilliant fellers telling us that the capslock key needs to be somewhere else because we can't be trusted with it being placed in an obvious spot.
It's there. Live with it. Your life, as you know it, will not end because of a capslock key.
In what may seem a rather confusing change of tone, I wish the CAPSoff effort the best of luck, and sincerely hope they succeed.

what about the people who alternate between caps and smalls (if that's a word) ...surely they don't use caps...and what about numbers and x's and z's ...yno wad imma tawkin abat?!
